Swimming lessons at Sharkz Aquatics have been nothing short of incredible. I started off terrified of water. I would limit myself from doing certain activities because I was scared of drowning. Two terms with Sharkz Aquatics later, I’m so much more comfortable in the water. I now actually look forward to activities that involve swimming. I’m so grateful for the freedom and confidence the lessons have given me. Every week we made the 109km drive from Bizana to Port Shepstone for lessons. They quickly became one of the things I looked forward to most. We didn’t even feel the drive because the lessons were worth every single minute. Coach Ed and Illse have been nothing but patient, kind, and welcoming. They went out of their way to accommodate us and made us feel right at home. I couldn’t have chosen a better swim school. Easily one of the best decisions I’ve made. Coach Ed is amazing at explaining every little detail. He taught each of us in the way we learn best. He was patient, and somehow made lessons informative, fun, therapeutic, and strengthening all at the same time. He taught us so much in such a short space of time, and he was able to see our potential and push us to be the best we can be. The skills and confidence I gained are worth far more than the money and time spent. I 100% recommend Sharkz Aquatics to anyone who wants to learn to swim — adults and kids alike. You won’t regret it!

When I started swimming lessons in January, I never imagined how much this journey would mean to me. Every Friday after work, my two friends and I would drive almost two hours from Bizana in the Eastern Cape to Port Shepstone for our lesson. It was a long drive but it was one we looked forward to every single week because it was always worth it. Coach Ed And IIIse created such a welcoming and encouraging environment. Coach Ed has been incredibly patient, kind and supportive throughout my learning journey. He believed in me even when I doubted myself, celebrated every small improvement and made learning to swim something I genuinely looked forward to. When we completed our first set of lessons, signing up for more wasn’t even a difficult decision. We simply didn’t want the experience to end. That’s how enjoyable and rewarding the lessons were. Thank you Coach Ed and IIse, for making every kilometre we travelled worth it ♥️🥹. I’ll always appreciate this journey and everything you taught me.

My kids have been with coach Ed since they were 2 and 18months. Coach Ed is amazing he is a great mix of firm and playful. He makes learning to swim fun. My now 6 year old jumps into the deep end of the pool with confidence and can swim unassisted. He just keeps perfecting her swimming skills and I’m in awe. Soon as my baby turns 18months she will start with Ed.

Before on those rare occasions when i said i was going swimming, i meant like the picture below. Thanks to coach Ed i am now able to swim and i love it. My daughter started doing lessons with coach Ed a few days after her 3rd birthday and was very much afraid of going swimming. Almost a year later she loves it so much. This is why i decided to take adult lessons and i have no regrets. I highly recommend Sharkz Aquatics for both adults and children.

Safety First

We teach safety in and around the pool.

We teach our students what to do should they fall into a pool and how to get out the water without help.

Students learn to swim independently with and without floatation devices.

Giving Back to the Community

We believe in giving back to the community. Due to the drowning statistics in South Africa, we sponsor children whose parents cannot afford lessons. These children join our interactive classes and finish our “learn to swim” program with the introduction of crawl and backstroke.

Partnering in Education

Swimming with Sharkz Aquatics is an educational experience! Not just a sports activity.

We do teach children how to swim using somatic and methodical features, but there is so much more which the coach offers the student.
